Dr. Francisco González de Canales Ruiz

Francisco es Catedrático en el Departamento de Historia, Teoría y Composición Arquitectónicas de la Universidad de Sevilla.  Anteriormente ha sido profesor de Historia y Teoría y de Proyectos en la Architectural Association (AA) de Londres y en diferentes instituciones del Reino Unido, México y Estados Unidos,  y desarrollado tareas de investigación en la AA, Universidad Católica de Chile, UNAM en México y Harvard University a través de distintos programas de subvenciones y becas (FPI, La Caixa, PICFA). Entre sus libros destacan Experimentos con la vida misma (mención especial del premio del Comité Internacional de Críticos de Arquitectura 2013), First Works (con B. Steele) o Rafael Moneo: Building, Teaching, Writing (con N. Ray). Su actividad como crítico de arquitectura le ha llevado a ser comisario cultural para la AA (AACP 2008-2012) y de varias exposiciones itinerantes como Rafael Moneo: Una Reflexión teórica desde la profesión, así como colaborador habitual en diversas revistas. Antenriormente ha trabajado como arquitecto con Foster and Partners y Rafael Moneo.

Francisco is a professor in the University of Seville and the Architectural Association (AA). An active architectural critic, he has previously lectured History & Theory in the AA, England, México, Spain, and the USA, collaborated in different architectural publications and curated various exhibitions at the Architectural Association as AACP coordinator (2008-2012), and other traveling exhibitions for Spanish institutions such as Rafael Moneo: A theoretical Reflection through practice. He has previously researched in the AA, Catholic University of Chile, UNAM in Mexico, and Harvard University under different scholarships and grants. Among his books are Experiment with Life itself (commended by the CICA Award 2013), First Works (with B. Steele), and Rafael Moneo. Building, Teaching, Writing (with N. Ray). He previously worked as an architect with Foster + Partners, Carlos Ferrater and Rafael Moneo.

    Dr. Nuria Alvarez Lombardero

Arquitecta ETSA Madrid, Master Architectural Association, Doctora ETSA Sevilla y Cambridge University.
Arquitecta por la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, es Unit Master en la Architectural Association. Anteriormente, Nuria ha dado clase en la Universidad de Sevilla, Universidad of Cambridge y the Bartlett University College of London, así como investigado en el GSD, Harvard University, la University of Cambridge y la Architectural Association, esta última financiada por la Beca Talentia de la Junta de Andalucía, y que han dado lugar a su tesis doctoral Mujeres en la ciudad sobre la ruptura de los límites por género en el diseño urbano moderno. Ha publicado diversos artículos  y libros como el premiado Arquitectas, y colaborado en las revistas Neutra y La Ciudad Viva. Como arquitecta ha trabajado en oficinas de Madrid y Sevilla, así como en el estudio de arquitectura Machado & Silvetti Associates en Boston, en proyectos vivienda y reorganización urbanística de espacios periféricos degradados.

Nuria is a unit master in the Architectural Association (AA). Previously she has taught at the University of Cambridge and the Bartlett University College of London, Madrid. She has researched in the GSD Harvard University, University of Cambridge, and AA, later funded by the Talentia Grant of the Andalusian Government, for her Ph.D. Women in the City about gender boundaries of modern urban planning. She has published various articles and books, such as the award-winning book Arquitectas, and collaborated in Neutra and La Ciudad VIva magazines. As an architect, she has worked in architectural offices of Madrid and Seville, and Machado & Silvetti Associates Boston office in housing projects and urban renewal of suburban degraded areas.
